November’s Seaside View…

The best way to start a self-care day is with a sunrise in Wildwood, NJ (November 2019)
“An empty lantern provides no light. Self-care is the fuel that allows your light to shine brightly.”
~ Unknown Self-Care Enthusiast
How best do we show up for ourselves this bountiful season? With Daylights Savings Time over and done with, it’s more important than ever to keep that metaphorical lantern shining brightly. Sure, there’s beach walks, Boardwalk bike rides and (extra-large) caramel lattes, all things guaranteed to soothe our shore-loving souls (or rev them up, thank you, caffeine). Sharing with fellow seaside lovers can double our delights, brightening even the darkest days. For some, rejuvenation comes from camaraderie, keeping the companionship of loved ones and caring for their well-being alongside our own. Self-Care, for others, might be more about solitary time, for the peace and quiet found in silence and a seabreeze.
Caring for ourselves is intrinsically connected to our comfort level, like a warm hug on a cold night. Connecting with the Great Outdoors and soaking in each salty breeze during a brisk walk can provide the ultimate spirit booster. Personal time also brings balance to our sometimes-chaotic world. Time to enjoy our own company may just be the key to contentment. A pot of veggie soup on the stove, with a good book and a peppermint hot chocolate on the counter, may just be the fuel needed to shine brightly. Throw in a Hallmark Holiday Movie Marathon and I’m all in!
Whatever you’re in for this thankful season, here’s to comfort, coziness, and all things Coastal…
