It’s a Wonderful (Seaside) Life (Story)

Seaside Wonders

The stage is beautifully set, and a wonderful winter tale is told in Wildwood, NJ

Perhaps that story has seen its final holiday viewing for the year, but let’s think about the title. What was the takeaway for our hero George Bailey, who, with the help of his endearing guardian angel Clarence, learned what makes a life “wonderful?” Did he learn that a bad chapter (i.e. bankruptcy and possible jail time) does not make for a bad life story? Did he discover that the rollercoaster existence is one worth living because of, not in spite of, its ups and downs? Perhaps George realized that he would have benefited greatly from salty sea air as opposed to fresh freezing snow (more fitting for the Christmas in July tale).

Is Wonder strictly for the holiday season? When we un-trim the tree and store our treasured ornaments away for another year, do we pack our most prized possession, our heartfelt memories, with it? Do we move forward into a new year with old baggage, or do we start with a clean slate, resolving to eat better, stress less and work out more?

Happily, Wonder can be found on every sandy, seaside corner (or city spot for that matter). Boardwalk bike rides combined with power walking comprise the ultimate calorie burner/cardio workout made complete with the backdrop of a serene, scene-stealing ocean view.

What more could we ask for as our Winter Chapter begins (and we wait patiently to turn the page toward the ever-popular Summer Seaside section of our story?)

How Wonderful will our life story be in 2024 by the sea…?
