Winter’s Seaside Scenes…

Wildwood’s Winter Views
Ready for the latest Coastal Class, where wisdom is found in the salty air, no books are required but note-taking is suggested? With only a few weeks left of winter, and an extra day tacked on, thank you, Leap Day, there’s still lessons to be learned as we make our way toward spring. 🤓📚
Naturally, dear readers, we’re going to keep these lessons simple but significant…
Lesson One: The Complexity of a Snowflake: In place of learning the characteristics of a snowflake, clearly a smart, educational way to go, why not use these fading winter days to gain understanding, to focus on the peace that each snowflake inspires and the joy only a winter setting can offer.
Lesson Two: Cozy is the new Cool: Sure, we could learn about the “Science of a snowflake” and what makes frost. We could track the temperature or measure the snowfall (or countdown to spring), all good math skills sure to sharpen our brains…Or we could get cozy under the warmest blanket, remote control in one hand, hot chocolate in the other, settle in and enjoy the scenery! We quickly realize it is these small winter moments that often fill the biggest place in our waiting-for-spring hearts.
Lesson Three: There is Light at the end of the Tunnel: A quick glance at the calendar will remind us that extended daylight will eventually outshine the darkness (Daylight Savings Time starts March 10th). Until then, candles offer the kindest glow.
Lesson Four: Snow shoveling rivals body surfing: How so? Calories burned, pretty scenery and water is involved, frozen water vs the salty sea, but still…
Lesson Five: Afternoon Naps are an Acceptable Activity: A well-deserved reward for aforementioned activity.
Lesson Six: Social Studies: Connecting with family and friends through social media is another acceptable indoor winter activity (always important to learn, a.k.a. keep up with, the latest gossip while waiting for warmer days!)
May you enjoy the wise and wonderful winter that remains and may you always admire the view! 🌅❄️
