Spring Cleaning Seaside Style

Spotless Seaside Sunrise…🌅

A “clean start” to a cool, spring day (Wildwood, NJ March 2024)

My idea of a superwoman is someone who scrubs her own floors… ~ Bette Midler

Spring at long last is here! The groundhog, attention seeker he is, has long since made his appearance and prediction and we can finally see signs of spring’s arrival.

Following a long-enough winter, we’re ready to open those windows (antihistamines faithfully taken) and breathe in that fresh, salty air. However, upon opening those long-closed panes, we’re bound to notice they could use a good cleaning. Come to think of it, after cramming our space with stuff we may or may not need sometime in the who-knows future, closing those closets and drawers has become a bit of a challenge and hey, what’s that hidden behind the milk in the fridge? How long’s that been there? Perhaps it’s time for a good spring cleaning. Once the clock strikes Beach Time, well, our weekend schedule will be full! Now’s the time to Pine Sol and polish, to scrub those floors, throw out anything in the refrigerator that’s been there so long you could charge it rent, empty those crammed closets and drawers, fill those donation bins and enjoy the fruits of our labor, a clean, uncluttered environment (and, hopefully, mind).

Our homes now properly cleansed; we can actually see out those windows! And, oh, the view that’s waiting for us… Spring is out there! Trees are budding, flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, and our days of hibernating (binge watching old sitcoms) are over (occasional streaming marathons notwithstanding). Life, by land and by sea, is sweet and sparkling clean…

Happy Spring!!! 🧼🌸🫧🌸🧹
