From Sunrise to Sunset…

…seaside serenity abounds (Wildwood, NJ 2021)
Come on inner peace…I don’t have all day… ~ said by every wannabe meditator
Looking to get Zen in time for the Summer of 2025 but don’t want to put in the time and (more-intense-than-we’d-like) focus you may think meditation requires? Do you want to be as serene as a seabreeze but in reality find eye rolling and people smacking more effective ways to express your emotions?
Obviously, smacking fellow humans is not a positive (or legal) way to handle life’s stressors. Also, not the nicest way to go through this world! Maybe we could use a bit of peaceful reflection. 🤔Just maybe, we can benefit from a bit of meditative introspection…
Simply put, meditation involves being present, focusing on breathing, and reducing negative thoughts and emotions. So, basically, thinking good thoughts and inhaling/exhaling air? Easy peasy, right?
According to our online sage advisors it is!
Naturally, sitting mindfully and staring into space is easier alongside a tranquil ocean view, but emptying our minds of negativity, responsibility, and summer planning (not to mention what we’re having for breakfast, lunch and dinner), hey, that’s hard!
Taking a walk along the coast, sun at our side, picturesque view in its place, breathing in that fresh, salty air, living in that moment, that we can do. That is an acceptable method for stress reduction (unlike the aforementioned smacking). Now, we’re ready to peace out and practice positivity.
Now we’re inspired! But can we sit still for stretches of time and focus on the here and now? Maybe we don’t have to…maybe meditation comes in many forms. Paint that seascape, even if it’s just doodling (we’re all artists in our own minds). Creativity generates calmness! Write in a journal, bake loved ones cookies, dance in the rain, drive with the top down, singing backup to the sounds of the sea, all respectable forms of contemplation when done in the moment, fully with your mind and heart…
Namaste! 🧘
