Spontaneous Seaside Summer… ✖️📃

Up in time for a beach sunrise…(Wildwood, NJ June 2023)
I know, To-Do lists are life for some people. How will we know we have laundry to do, stamps to buy and appointments to make 🙄 if we don’t write it all down (Is it the checking things off that list that many of us live for?) Hey, it’s almost summer and we’re busy prepping to become the best summer seaside lovers we can be. We don’t have time for To-Do lists! Do we really need to accomplish anything during the fastest, sunniest time of year? What about a reversal of sorts? 🤔 Instead of listing everything we plan on doing, why not make a list of everything we’ve already done? Instead of looking forward, we’re working backward here (stick with me, please, it gets better🤞).
I suggest we take the pressure off. For instance, the sun rises very early this time of year. Did you almost wake in time for its arrival? Did you (presumably after many waking hours) walk briskly from pizza place to ice cream stand? Does that count as cardio? Can we check waking up and working out off of that list? In honor of easy breezy summer, I declare, YES!
Before our heads hit the pillow at night, let’s remember everything that made each day great, no matter what we did or didn’t do. We may not have biked the length of the boardwalk (cheers if you did), but oh, the sights we did see! We admired that view (perhaps from a bench as opposed to a bicycle). We may not have surfed to, well, a surfer’s hearts content, but did we feel that sea breeze, soak in that sun and live blissfully in that beachy moment (again, from a beach chair as opposed to a surfboard?) Check and Check! ✅☑️
Here’s to a summer of beach-inspired backward living!
