“If we will be quiet and ready enough, we shall find compensation in every disappointment. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler; solitude will not be solitude, poverty will not be poverty, nor weakness weakness. I never found a companion that was so companionable than solitude.” ~ Henry David Thoreau
During these solitary days, what quiets your soul and simplifies your life? Is it a lone walk in the woods (thank you, Henry David) or a party-of-one stroll by the sea, where the salt air, some of us are convinced, heals even the strongest ailments?
Clearly, an ocean sunrise and a bayside sunset make for the best companions but what about the hours that reside between the light and the darkness? Exactly how should we be spending them (aside from hand sanitizing and social distancing?) Is it better to watch the news or witness the beauty of nature?
What feeds your one and only, simply beautiful soul?
